Robert Lindsell

Biography

Robert's career in business management, sales and marketing spans 30 years and four continents. He has held four GM positions, one MD role and multiple sales and business development positions including European Sales Director for a large multinational, based in their European headquarters in Paris. Working with B2B and B2C businesses in Europe, the USA, Australia and SE Asia, he has focused on growth and fix strategies and the implementation of business systems. Robert has spent many years working with businesses in Asia, including Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, LG, Hitachi, Sony, Foxconn and Matsushita.

As the Sales and Business Development Director for Asia, Robert's key achievements included the successful formation of an American/Japanese $60 million joint venture, and the subsequent integration of three businesses and their positioning for growth - which resulted in an increase in sales revenue of 20 per cent in the post acquisition year. He has managed numerous growth projects including sales performance improvement, new product introduction and geographic expansion, as well as company and brand recognition marketing campaigns. As GM Europe of the coatings division of a multinational company, Robert pioneered B2B and B2C internet-based sales to broaden the sales channel offering to an established client base, achieving sales of US$1 million per month within 12 months.

Robert is a proven people manager, with the skills and drive to motivate any workforce, particularly sales teams, in their drive to sustained success. He provides guidance and advice to existing managers, so that improvements in performance are sustained and can be further developed. He also has strong organizational skills, allowing him to identify the weaker points of any business, suggest changes and manage the transition. Robert enjoys a challenge and has proven himself many times over in the areas of new market identification and penetration, strategic planning and its implementation, complex problem resolution, change management, major restructure and footprint alignment.
